- The term direct current (DC) refers to
- current that flows with constant magnitude and
- direction. One simple DC circuit consists of a
- voltage source (battery or voltaic cell) connected
- to a resistor.
- Kirchoff's 1st Law states that the current
- flowing into a junction in a circuit (or node)
- must equal the current flowing out of the junction.
- This law is a direct consequence of the conservation
- of charge. Since no charge can be lost in the junction,
- any charge that flows in must ultimately flow out.
- Kirchoff's 1st Law can be remembered as the rule
- that uses nodes to study the flow of current around
- a circuit.
