  1.     The term direct current (DC) refers to 
  2. current that flows with constant magnitude and 
  3. direction. One simple DC circuit consists of a 
  4. voltage source (battery or voltaic cell) connected 
  5. to a resistor.
  6.     Kirchoff's 1st Law states that the current 
  7. flowing into a junction in a circuit (or node) 
  8. must equal the current flowing out of the junction. 
  9. This law is a direct consequence of the conservation 
  10. of charge. Since no charge can be lost in the junction, 
  11. any charge that  flows in must ultimately flow out. 
  12. Kirchoff's 1st Law can be remembered as the rule 
  13. that uses nodes to study the flow of current  around 
  14. a circuit.
